Teen Training Progam
Teen Class D Training Program
The Teen Program provides all Ohio drivers under the age of 21 with the required Class D training. Ohio law now requires that drivers aged 18, 19, and 20 complete the same training as teenagers.
The program includes:
-
24 hours of classroom instruction
-
8 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction with a licensed instructor
-
50 hours of supervised driving with a parent or guardian, including 10 hours at night
Students must be at least 15 years and 5 months old to begin the classroom portion of the training.
Classroom Options
- Online (Self-Paced): Complete the 24-hour classroom at home through DriversEd.com or any state-approved online provider. After completion, students move on to behind-the-wheel lessons.
-
Zoom (Live, Instructor-Led): Six 4-hour classes, held quarterly. Students interact directly with instructors and other students from the comfort of home. Must be completed before scheduling behind-the-wheel lessons.
