In Ohio, anyone under the age of 21 who is applying for their driver license is required to complete an approved driver education program. This includes 24 hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours of behind-the-wheel training with a licensed driving school.
Previously, driver education was only required for students under 18. This requirement has changed, so students ages 18–20 must also complete a Teen Driver Education program before obtaining their license.
Yes. Students ages 18–20 who are required to complete driver education will register for the same Class D Driver Training program as younger students. The program includes the required classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training needed to complete Ohio’s driver education requirements.

No. Teen students do not need their temporary permit before beginning the 24 hours of classroom instruction.
Please keep in mind that students under the age of 18 must hold their temporary permit for at least 6 months before taking their road test. Students must have their temporary permit before scheduling any behind-the-wheel lessons.

Both options satisfy Ohio’s required 24 hours of classroom instruction for the Teen Driver Education program. The main difference is how the classroom portion is completed.
Online Course (Self-Paced):

The course can typically be completed in as little as one week, but students have up to six months to finish
Zoom Program (Live Virtual Class):
Conducted live with a state-certified instructor through Zoom
Students attend scheduled class sessions and interact with the instructor in real time
The full 24 hours are completed over multiple scheduled class dates
There is no additional charge for choosing the Zoom Program; it is included in the cost of the behind-the-wheel training package
Both options meet Ohio’s classroom requirement, so students may choose the format that best fits their learning style and schedule.
Yes, students have the choice to either complete the 24-hours of classroom instruction online or through our instructor led, virtual Zoom classes. The online course that we partner with is called DriversEd.com. Students can find a link to their site on the Teen Driving Course page of our website!
Behind the wheel lessons are scheduled over the phone with our scheduling department. Students receive a call when their name is at the top of our waiting list.
For the behind the wheel lessons, students must have a valid temporary permit in hand and wear gym shoes.

Once payment has been completed, the required 24 hours of classroom instruction has been finished, and the student has their temporary permit, their name will be added to our behind-the-wheel scheduling list. Our office will contact families when it is time to schedule available lesson dates.
Ohio requires students in the Teen Driver Education program to complete 50 hours of supervised driving, including 10 hours of nighttime driving, with a parent, guardian, or another qualified licensed driver.
These hours can be recorded manually on the Ohio BMV’s supervised driving log (50-Hour Affidavit). The completed affidavit must be signed and presented to the BMV before taking the road test.
You may also record these hours electronically using the RoadReady Ohio app.
Once students complete the full program – both the 8-hours of behind the wheel and the 24-hours of classroom – it may take up to 3 business days to process your certificate. The Certificates are typically emailed, with the original copy being mailed to the students home address. Pick-up from our administrative office is also an option.
Adult Driving Lessons are designed for anyone 21 years of age or older who wants to improve their driving skills. Whether you’re learning to drive for the first time, preparing for your road test, or simply looking to build confidence behind the wheel, our instructors will tailor each lesson to your experience level.
*Please note that individual adult driving lessons do not count toward the BMV requirement for the Abbreviated Adult Program or the Limited Term Licensing Program.

Adult driving lessons are divided into individual lessons, tailored for each driver. Each lesson is 1-hour and 30-minutes long. You can take as many lessons as needed in preparation of the road test at the BMV.
Every student learns at a different pace. Some students only need one or two lessons before their road test, while others prefer additional practice to build confidence. Our instructors will help recommend the number of lessons based on your experience and goals.
Yes! Home pick-up is available for Adult Driving Lessons if your address is within our instructor’s service area. If your location falls outside of our pick-up range, students would meet at one of our convenient locations.

Yes! We offer a Test Service Package that allows eligible students to use one of our training vehicles for their driver’s test. This service is available for both teen and adult students.

All of our Remedial Programs are held virtually on Zoom. These are live, instructor-led programs where students must attend on a device with a working camera and microphone to actively participate.
Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. It is your responsibility to submit the certificate to the agency that required you to complete the program.
The Abbreviated Adult Program is designed for adult drivers who have failed the first attempt at either the driving and/or maneuverability portion of their road test.

The Abbreviated Adult Program includes two required steps:
Step 1: Complete a 4-hour online driver education course.
Students may complete the required 4-hour classroom portion through an approved online provider. We recommend DriversEd.com, which offers a self-paced course that can be completed from home on your own schedule. Upon successful completion, students will receive a certificate of completion by email.
Step 2: Complete the required driving experience.

A temporary permit marked “Non-Renewable/Non-Transferable” indicates that the Ohio BMV has placed additional requirements on your licensing process. Depending on your situation, you may be required to complete a driver education program before taking the road test. Yes, we have a driving instructor who is fluent in Spanish.
Payment can be made over the phone using a credit or debit card. Please note that there is a 3% service fee added to credit card payments only. Payment can also be made with cash or a money order. These forms of payment must be brought in or mailed in to our Corporate Office in Cincinnati.
